School Policy – Class 4/5/7

HEALTH & SAFETY

To support public safety and reduce the spread of COVID-19 or other virus:

• Instructor may conduct a temperature check for student to monitor fever at start of each lesson.

• A 3-ply face mask is optional to be worn during driver training.

LESSONS FEE & DURATION

Each lesson is provided by a licensed driving instructor under the Motor Vehicle Act. No hidden fees. All prices are GST included.

• Class 4 lesson costs:

  • • 2 hours - $210 (including pre-trip inspection and driving)

• Class 5/7 individual lessons cost:

  • • 1 hour - $80

    • 1.5 hours - $110

  • Class 5/7 package cost 

    • 10 Hours Package - $720

    • 15 Hours Package - $1050

• We accept cash or e-transfer:

  • • Cash - has to be received by the school PRIOR to the start of the lesson.

    • E-transfer - has to be received by the school (bayviewdriving@yahoo.com) the day BEFORE the lesson.

• Each 1 hour lesson includes 50 mins of practical training and 10 mins of debrief. Similar structure applies to 1.5 hr lesson & 2 hr lesson.

• For safety reason, only 1 instructor and 1 student can stay inside the car during a driving training lesson (a total of 2 PEOPLE).

CEASING OF LESSON

Ceasing of the lesson will happen if any of the below conditions apply:

• Unable to present a valid Driver’s license when attending a driving lesson.

• Unfit to drive (e.g. fever, injured limbs, sprained ankle etc.)

• Usage of drugs, marijuana, vapes, cigarettes or alcohol before and during the lessons.

• Showing a temperature of 38 degrees Celsius or above during the optional temperature check.

• No show 20mins after scheduled time, without any call or message to instructor, or student unreachable by phone.

The lesson will not be rescheduled and a $40 Cease Lesson fee will be charged.

CANCELLATIONS, RESCHEDULING AND REFUNDS

• Any cancellations, rescheduling or refunds must notify the school at least 24 hours before the lesson. Otherwise, a $30 Late Notice fee with be charged.

• For package lesson:

  • If a refund is requested BEFORE THE FIRST LESSON, the full lesson fee will be refunded to the student.

  • If a refund is requested AFTER THE FIRST LESSON, each lesson attended will be charged at Individual lessons rate (i.e. $80 for 1 hour lesson and $110 for 1.5 hour lesson).

  • For 10 Hours Package, the refund will be $720 minus (no. of 1 hr lesson attended  x $80 + no. of 1.5 hr lesson attended x $110)

  • For 15 Hours Package, the refund will be $1050 minus (no. of 1 hr lesson attended  x $80 + no. of 1.5 hr lesson attended x $110)

ROAD TEST BOOKING CANCELLATION

• Students who signed consent form, and would like to cancel a road test appointment booked by the school MUST inform the school 72 HOURS BEFORE their road test in order for the school to make the cancellation in a timely manner. Otherwise, student will be charged a $25 fee by ICBC for each missed test at their next road test appointment. This $25 fee is in addition to the usual road test fee.

ROAD TEST CAR RENTAL

• As current student of our driving school, subject to instructor approval and car availability, the school car may be rented for road test.

• Rental fee is $420. This includes 30 minutes of warm-up driving and a 1-hour road test.

• The rental fee must be received by the school (cash or e-transfer) at least 1 DAY BEFORE THE ROAD TEST.

• Should there be any damage to the vehicle during the road test, the student has the liability to pay for the repair at any cost, irrespective the student is AT FAULT OR NOT.
